Michael grew up in Connecticut where he studied Computer Science, Engineering and Graphic Design at the University of New Haven. He later graduated from Montserrat College of Art in Massachusetts with a BFA in Illustration. Michael has worked in collaboration with authors, independent filmmakers, educators, artists, animators, sound designers, engineers, programmers, game developers, and mobile application designers.
As an educator Michael was a one-man department teaching Computer Science and STEAM at the Taft School. As an educator he has taught Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Graphics Programming, Game Development, Web Design, 3D Modeling, 3D Printing, and Digital Citizenship. Michael works in Cybersecurity at Yale University where he uses his multi-faceted background to integrate technology, art, science, math, and education. Michael is dedicated to using his interdisciplinary knowledge to teach and inspire others.
Zakiyah Gathers is an artist from New York City, currently residing in Connecticut where she works freelance and teaches 3D/2D animation, computer science, and studio arts at the high school level. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation from Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
Zakiyah also has a background in graphic design tailored from her time at the University of New Haven in Connecticut. She has a strong interest in creative educational animation. Among her major influences are director Hayao Miyazaki’s films, which aided her love for nature and interest in paying attention to small details in everyday life. Her animations reflect her personal observations within society, and the beauty and appreciation for the natural world.
James Scaramuzzino is an instrumentalist, sound designer, and teacher currently living in Massachusetts. Music has been a constant in his life since the age of four when he started playing violin, and over the years has followed this passion and expanded his musical range by learning a new instrument every few years. James has a unique gift that allows him to quickly learn any instrument using only the sound as his guide.
James graduated from Hampshire College with a BFA in Music Composition and Production. He has produced soundtracks for several documentaries, commercials, games and animations. James combines ambience from the natural world with acoustic and synthetic textures to create landscapes of sound.
